![]() So many of us are battle digestive issues and heart burn and unless you have been living under a rock you have all heard about apple cider vinegar and how it is this amazing cure all for indigestion. However, ACV can do so much more! There are studies being done proving ACV kill bacteria, balances blood sugar level, kick starts metabolism and lowers cholesterol. How does it work? In lowering blood sugar, the acetic acid in the vinegar has been known to block glucose thus lowering the insulin levels in the body. In kick starting your metabolism, acetic acid increasing the enzyme AMPK which job is to increase fat burning in the body and decrease fat and sugar stored in the liver. In a study of diabetic rats, acetic acid raised good cholesterol and decrease triglycerides. Thus, lowering total cholesterol levels. These studies are still very new but certainly very promising. How should I take it? Please stop taking the ACV shots!! You are going to burn a hole in your esophagus. An easy way is to cook with it, salad dressings, Asian cuisine, and pickling vegetables. Also, add 1-2 tablespoon to water and drink it up to 3 times per day. By doing this before meals one can feel fuller, lose weight and control blood glucose levels. Lastly, make it into a tea. 8 oz. of green tea, a tablespoon of ACV and a ½ lemon. Too much bitter a little honey can take the bite away.
