We all have that moment when we are on the success train moving along when suddenly we are derailed. Maybe its lack of coping strategies to stress, maybe it is because you are tired of trying so hard, maybe it is because what we thought was right was really wrong.
For whatever the reason it is important to experience these setbacks. It is here we learn failure and the lessons that go along with it. I have spoken before about finding your point person. This does not mean a workout buddy, those are very hard to come by. Not everyone is on the same path and not everyone is a cheerleader on your journey.
Sometimes that point person might be a coach, nutritionist, counselor, or psychologist. They are your personal train conductors. When starting your journey, you will find more success when you meet with your person regularly to map out your course of travels. Choose your point person carefully. Make sure they have credentials and have a wealth of knowledge and experiences to bring to you. If you don’t feel a connection to your conductor then move on. There are many professionals out there to help, take the time and find the right one.
Now I am not one for metaphors but this just fit. The reality is that it is ok to ask for help. Know that you are never alone.
