![]() Joe Cross decided after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, high blood pressure and suffering from a chronic rash he had enough. He had to lose weight. Instead of just doing it the more conventional way, he decided that he was going on a 60 day fruit and veggie juice cleanse. But, that's not all, he also uprooted from Australia to the US. He spent the first 30 days documenting his journey in New York City. Then, he took it on the road and spent the next 30 driving across the US ending in California. He filmed all of his highs and lows during this journey. I have to say, surprisingly, there were not that many lows. He inspired many people to try a 10 day fast/cleanse and he lost 84 pounds and is completely off all medication. One person particular, Phil, decided to complete a full 60 day cleanse and he lost over 150 pounds. He was suffering with many of the same ailments as Joe. Phil is now 202 pounds from 426 and is living a wonderfully clean lifestyle. Sadly, this is not the take away from most in this documentary. Joe interviewed many and the majority of those he spoke to, either didn't know how to lose weight, plan one day to lose weight or would rather die fat and happy, then skinny and unhappy. That last part confused me so much because people in America think if you eat whole foods that are indeed healthy for you, you will be unhappy. That is frightening to me that people really think eating well makes you sad. No, taking 5 different pills a day, going to the doctors constantly, and dying before you 50 makes you unhappy. Actually, it just makes you dead. This is definitely a must see. It is did not push one way of eating vs. another...it spoke from the heart. We need to eat better to fell better.
