We all know exercise is good for us. So, what if we no longer needed to exercise and all we had to do is pop a pill to get the same results. Researchers have recently found a protein named Piezo1. This protein is released when exercise to constrict blood vessels in the digestive system in order to increase blood flow to muscles. Thus, increasing muscular performance. So, the question is can a pill be made to cause a release of this protein so the body reacts the same but without the hours on end spent in the gym. My concerns are not just the laziness this could create but the fact that we wouldn't receive all the other benefits to exercise like endorphins, socializing and accomplishing goals. So the question really is, would you opt for a pill instead of a gym?
